I’m Kerry, Founder of The Long Distance Grandparent.

I love working with grandparents, helping you nurture strong bonds with your grandchildren. After a 20-year career as a care and connections research scientist, I switched gears when I saw the need for practical, fun and meaningful ideas to stay connected to grandchildren.

Our family knows what you are experiencing. My children’s grandparents live in other countries. We only get to see them twice a year. And now, with the pandemic, even less.

But because I’m the parent, I see what works with my children. And because I’m a researcher, I’ve engaged with hundreds of long distance grandparents – to find out what works (and what doesn’t).

Connection Packs include done-for-you snail mail to send, tons of things to talk about and easy games and activities to play on video chats.

These aren’t your average printables. Based on my tried and tested Connection Loop™, each one is designed specifically to PROMPT connection. They make perfect snail mail, with lots of options to choose from each month. If you have multiple grandchildren, no problem – print out multiple copies!
Virtual Grand Dates

A series of activities and quick start games specifically for video chatting. Grandparents love these because they are step-by-step and imaginative but don't require 3-ring circus performance abilities!
Moments that Matter Sheets

This isn't about recording your life story for them. It's about recording your life's relationship with them. Each month, you take 10 minutes to fill these out, and you save them for your grandchild. They will be able to look back on these and see how much they meant to you.

Here are a few answers to our most common questions

Sounds great but I don't want to be locked into a contract?

There are no lock-in contracts so you are free to cancel your membership whenever you like! Come and try it out for a month and if it's not for you, just email me and I will cancel the following month.

I don't have FaceBook. Can I still join?

YES! About half of our members are not on FaceBook but with the monthly Zoom chats and Connection Pack, they are more than happy with the membership and seeing great progress.

I already get lots of great ideas from your emails, FaceBook and Instagram. How is this different?

I know so many grandparents are already benefiting from the ideas I share in my emails and on social media. But The Long Distance Grandparent Society is different.

I use a step-by-step process to move you towards more intentional, consistent and meaningful interactions with your grandchildren. The Monthly Connection Pack is filled with printables designed to prompt connection and imaginative ideas you need to keep nurturing the bonds from a distance. I lay out a plan for you each month by making it easier to do the things you want to do.

And it’s not only me, because when you join The LDG Society you become part of an amazing community of grandparents who get what it’s like to be at a distance. Everyone is focused on encouraging each other and sharing ideas.

What if I don't use Zoom?

I can talk you through setting up Zoom OR there is a wonderful company called GetSetup.io. They provide FREE classes about all kinds of tech, including Zoom. I've taken the Zoom class and other members of The LDG Society have taken their classes. They are really user-friendly.

Can my partner participate in The LDG Society too?

Yes! All Grandmas and Grandpas most welcome. We have members who participate together right now!

Can I join for 1 month to see if I like it?

Of course! Just choose the 1 month option. All you have to do is email me at least 48 hours before your monthly subscription is set to renew. I would never want someone to stay in it, if they didn't find it 100% valuable.

What age range of grandchild is The LDG Society suited for?

This is for you if you have grandchildren aged 2-10. I hope to be able to expand it but for now, if your grandchildren are in this age range, you will benefit the most.

What if I only want to join for The Connection Pack each month?

There are members who only use the Connection Pack and at $20/month, it's well worth the price of the membership alone. You can use whatever part of the membership that works best for you! I call this a Take What you Need Style Membership.

Cancellation

If you want to cancel, just email me 48 hours before your monthly payment is due and I will remove you from the membership. You can leave anytime with absolutely no hard feelings! I want members to be happy - and I work hard to make sure you have everything you need to stay connected to your grandchild. But if it's not for you, you can cancel.
